In California occurred case that is hard not to consider. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger broke the American law during his recent visit to Ottawa.

After meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Schwarzenegger was on his way to airport to the nation’s capital. As sustained reporter of Ottawa Citizen, his five-car motorcade made an unexpected stop in front of Westin Hotel. They stopped for something that Schwarzenegger likes very much- for a Cuban cigar. The governor come out and entered into the Westin and bought it.

Why Schwarzenegger buy it a local that isn't in America? Response is simple: In USA was introduced prohibition on tobacco products and it became illegal to sell and/or smoke them at all, even if you are out of country.

International News Plus was visited by governor, accompanied by 10 police officers and security guards, and offered interview about the incident. Seeing this celebrity in such campaign, employer of International News Plus, Rahmat Assad, said: “I was very surprised. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’ve seen his movies”.

He sustained that governor just entered in the store aide bought him the Cuban cigar, a Partagas for $15.99, and went out. “They paid for it, he put it in his mouth, and he left”, Assad said, adding he was so excited at the time he can’t remember what Schwarzenegger said.

Leaving the shop, the motorcade left for the airport where the governor caught a flight to Vancouver.

Aaron McLear, Schwarzenegger’s spokesman said although stop was brief and unusual; it turned out to be unprecedented.

McLear would not comment on his attitude toward the U.S. embargo of Cuban goods, just said: “He stopped by, smoked it, nothing else. I don’t know what kind of cigar it was and it’s gone now”.

This case reminds one Latin dictum “Dura lex, sed lex” translated “The law is hard, but it is the law” and it is for everybody.
