One of most acute problems for almost all states is a high range of tobacco smokers. Every state tries to find resolutions for this acute problem. After introducing of ban on smoking in almost all public places, there were states which decided to increase age level for selling tobacco products from 16 to 18 years old. There are states that had already accepted and applied new law.

Rising of age from 16 to 18 interested Scottish Parliament too. MSP plans to rise the legal age for buying cigarettes and any tobacco products from 16 to 18. New introduction are expected to be approved as soon as possible.

In states where similar law was launched, sellers are allowed to ask for client ID if it is needed. Government has already applied some controls for shops ands stores which sell tobacco products in order to check if this rule is respected. For breaking the law fine of some thousands and/or suspend license certificate is applied.

The Scottish Government had proposed to increase the age for purchasing tobacco from 16 to 18 recently. Members of Holyrood's Health and Sport Committee unanimously sustained the move. New law is planed to be implemented with a very high-speed. According to related, if MSPs approve the rise, it will come into effect at the start of the next month.

This seems to be one of most reasonable laws in order to diminish the number of smoking adolescents.
